We have four distinct seasons in Dayton. A gentle spring gives way to generally hot and humid weather between Memorial and Labor Day, followed by a crisp, colorful autumn. Winter can be white - but not every year. Total precipitation, distributed evenly throughout the year, is 29 inches. Seasonal snowfall also averages 29 inches. The mean date of the first severe frost is October 26, and the mean date of the last severe frost of the Spring is April 19.
